Hi everyone I’m so excited to share with you our latest project at Young Pollinators.
We have been planting beautiful planters around Bexhill to celebrate the king’s coronation. And We used red, white and blue flowers to match the colours of the flag! We did our research and discovered red, white and blue flowers that bloom in May here’s a list of the plants we researched:
* Tulips (Red and White)
* Bluebells (Blue)
* Forget-me-nots (Blue)
* Primroses (White and Yellow)
* Wallflowers (Red, White and Blue)
We carefully selected these plants and recommended then to Bexhill in Bloom who got them from a local nursery for us to create beautiful arrangements in our planters.
We had a lot of fun and learned a lot from the amazing volunteers of Bexhill in Bloom, who taught us how to choose the right plants, how to arrange them in the planters, and how to take care of them. We were also taught about the importance of soil quality and how to properly water our plants to ensure their longevity. They also gave us some tips on how to make our own compost and reduce waste, this knowledge will undoubtedly be useful in our future projects.
We would like to thank the Marina Residents Association and the Rother District Council Coronation Grant, whose contributions made this project possible. Their generosity allowed us to purchase the necessary materials and plants, and we are grateful for their support.
We would also like to thank the staff at the Library, Fox and Sons, and St. Michael’s Hospice for their support and encouragement for project by offering to look after the planters during the day. It’s thanks to the help of local businesses and organisations that we are able to make a difference in our community.
Thank you for reading our blog post and stay tuned for more updates on our activities. If you want to join our club or support us in any way, please contact us through our website or social media. We would love to hear from you!
We are so proud of our work and we hope that it will brighten up the town and make people smile. We also hope that it will raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. We believe that every little action counts and that we can make a difference together.
Happy planting!
